Saturday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
+ 로마서 8,1-11
<그리스도를 죽은 이들 가운데에서 일으키신 분의 영께서 여러분 안에 사십니다.>
해설) 세속을 따라 사는 사람은 육적인 것에 마음을 쓰고, 성령을 따라 사는 사람은 영적인 것에 마음을 씁니다. 성령은 이기적인 본능을 따라 살게 하는 인간 본성을 저버리게 하고 진정으로 주님을 섬기며 주님의 뜻에 따라 살게 합니다. 주님의 성령은 새로운 내적 활력으로서 인간을 죄와 죽음에서 자유롭게 합니다.
형제 여러분, 1 이제 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 이들은 단죄를 받을 일이 없습니다. 2 그리스도 예수님 안에서 생명을 주시는 성령의 법이 그대를 죄와 죽음의 법에서 해방시켜 주었기 때문입니다. 3 율법이 육으로 말미암아 나약해져 이룰 수 없던 것을 하느님께서 이루셨습니다. 곧 당신의 친아드님을 죄 많은 육의 모습을 지닌 속죄 제물로 보내시어 그 육 안에서 죄를 처단하셨습니다. 4 이는 육이 아니라 성령에 따라 살아가는 우리 안에서, 율법이 요구하는 바가 채워지게 하려는 것이었습니다. 5 무릇 육을 따르는 자들은 육에 속한 것을 생각하고, 성령을 따르는 이들은 성령에 속한 것을 생각합니다. 6 육의 관심사는 죽음이고 성령의 관심사는 생명과 평화입니다. 7 육의 관심사는 하느님을 적대하는 것이기 때문입니다. 사실 그것은 하느님의 법에 복종하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 복종할 수도 없습니다. 8 육 안에 있는 자들은 하느님 마음에 들 수 없습니다. 9 그러나 하느님의 영이 여러분 안에 사시기만 하면, 여러분은 육 안에 있지 않고 성령 안에 있게 됩니다. 누구든지 그리스도의 영을 모시고 있지 않으면, 그는 그리스도께 속한 사람이 아닙니다. 10 그러나 그리스도께서 여러분 안에 계시면, 몸은 비록 죄 때문에 죽은 것이 되지만, 의로움 때문에 성령께서 여러분의 생명이 되어 주십니다. 11 예수님을 죽은 이들 가운데에서 일으키신 분의 영께서 여러분 안에 사시면, 그리스도를 죽은 이들 가운데에서 일으키신 분께서 여러분 안에 사시는 당신의 영을 통하여 여러분의 죽을 몸도 다시 살리실 것입니다.

Brothers and sisters: 1 Now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law, weakened by the flesh, was powerless to do, this God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for the sake of sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteous decree of the law might be fulfilled in us, who live not according to the flesh but according to the spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh are concerned with the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the spirit with the things of the spirit. 6 The concern of the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace. 7 For the concern of the flesh is hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it; 8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also, through his Spirit that dwells in you.
묵상) 세속과 육적인 것에만 마음을 쓰는 사람은 주님의 뜻에 복종하지 않기 때문에 주님의 원수가 됩니다. 육을 따라 사는 사람은 자기중심적으로 생각하고 말하고 행동하기 때문에 주님을 기쁘시게 해 드릴 수가 없습니다. 육적인 것에 마음을 쓰면 죽음이 오고, 영적인 것에 마음을 쓰면 생명을 얻습니다.

< 너희도 회개하지 않으면 모두 멸망할 것이다. >
해설) 이스라엘 백성은 현세적 불행이 조상들의 죄와 하느님의 저주 때문이라고 여깁니다. 예수님께서는 회개하는 사람들에게 현세적 상급을 약속하신 적도 없으며, 회개하지 않는 사람들에게 현세적 징벌을 선언하신 적도 없으십니다. 예수님께서는 회개하지 않는 이들에게 종국적인 멸망, 곧 종말심판을 예고하십니다.
1 그때에 어떤 사람들이 와서, 빌라도가 갈릴래아 사람들을 죽여 그들이 바치려던 제물을 피로 물들게 한 일을 예수님께 알렸다. 2 그러자 예수님께서 그들에게 이르셨다. “너희는 그 갈릴래아 사람들이 그러한 변을 당하였다고 해서 다른 모든 갈릴래아 사람보다 더 큰 죄인이라고 생각하느냐? 3 아니다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 모두 그처럼 멸망할 것이다. 4 또 실로암에 있던 탑이 무너지면서 깔려 죽은 그 열여덟 사람, 너희는 그들이 예루살렘에 사는 다른 모든 사람보다 더 큰 잘못을 하였다고 생각하느냐? 5 아니다. 내가 너희에게 말한다. 너희도 회개하지 않으면 모두 그렇게 멸망할 것이다.” 6 예수님께서 이러한 비유를 말씀하셨다. “어떤 사람이 자기 포도밭에 무화과나무 한 그루를 심어 놓았다. 그리고 나중에 가서 그 나무에 열매가 달렸나 하고 찾아보았지만 하나도 찾지 못하였다. 7 그래서 포도 재배인에게 일렀다. ‘보게, 내가 삼 년째 와서 이 무화과나무에 열매가 달렸나 하고 찾아보지만 하나도 찾지 못하네. 그러니 이것을 잘라 버리게. 땅만 버릴 이유가 없지 않은가?’ 8 그러자 포도 재배인이 그에게 대답하였다. ‘주인님, 이 나무를 올해만 그냥 두시지요. 그동안에 제가 그 둘레를 파서 거름을 주겠습니다. 9 그러면 내년에는 열매를 맺겠지요. 그러지 않으면 잘라 버리십시오.’”

1 At that time some people who were present there told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices. 2 He said to them in reply, “Do you think that because these Galileans suffered in this way they were greater sinners than all other Galileans? 3 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did! 4 Or those eighteen people who were killed when the tower at Siloam fell on them?do you think they were more guilty than everyone else who lived in Jerusalem? 5 By no means! But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!” 6 And he told them this parable: “There once was a person who had a fig tree planted in his orchard, and when he came in search of fruit on it but found none, 7 he said to the gardener, ‘For three years now I have come in search of fruit on this fig tree but have found none. So cut it down. Why should it exhaust the soil?’ 8 He said to him in reply, ‘Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it; 9 it may bear fruit in the future. If not you can cut it down.’”
묵상) 무화과나무는 이스라엘 백성을 상징합니다. 그리고 열매 맺지 않는 나무를 잘라 버린다는 표현은 회개하지 않는 삶은 종말에 단죄의 심판을 받는다는 뜻입니다. 하느님께서는 이스라엘 백성에게 회개할 기회를 한 번 더 주시기로 하십니다. 그러니 지금 여기에서 회개하지 않으면 종말 심판을 면할 길이 없을 것입니다.
우리에게 햇빛도 비도 모두 필요합니다. 우리 삶 안의 행복과 고통도 마찬가지입니다. 하느님과 올바른 관계에 있는 사람에게는 모든 것이 합하여져 선을 이룹니다. 행복할 때는 주님을 찬양할 것이며, 불행 중에는 하느님께 부르짖어 기도합니다. 우리에게 닥친 고통조차 우리의 영혼을 일깨워 주님께로 나아가게 한다면 그 또한 좋은 것입니다.

회개하지 않으면 멸망한다.
+ 루카 13, 1-9
1. " 회개하지 않으면 모두 그렇게 멸망할 것이다"라는 예수님의 말씀은 어떤 의미입니까? 나는 삶 안에서 어떤 것을 쫒으며 살고 있습니까? 선 입니까? 악 입니까? 나와의 관계를 내가 주님과의 관계를 개선하기 위해서 가장먼저 해야 할 것은 무엇입니까?
2. 죄의 삶에서 벗어나 회계하고 돌아오길 바라시며 주님은 오늘도 인내를 가지고 기다리고 계십니다. '나'라는 무화과나무는 어떤 열매를 맺고 있습니까? 내가 열매 맺지 못하는 삶을 살고 있다면 왜 입니까? 좋은 열매를 맺기위해 필요한 것은 무엇입니까? 내가 좋은 열매를 맺도록 주위에서 나를 도와준 사람은 누구입니까? 그는 나를 위해 주님께 자비를 청하진 않았습니까?

Suffering and sin
We are told in today’s text from the letter to the Romans that we are saved because of the incarnation. In Christ’s taking human form he destroyed the power of death over us and restored us to God. In taking human form he gave us the perfect example by which to live. The man who lives by the ‘flesh’ is the man who lives by his own devices and who is, therefore, somewhat weak. The man who lives by the ‘spirit’ is the one who allows the Holy Spirit and the message of the Gospel to rule in his life and guide all his actions.
In the Gospel, Jesus tells us that unless we repent and amend our lives in conformity to the Gospel, we will perish. The traditional Jewish belief was that whatever evil befell people was a result of some sin they had committed. But Christ says that this is not so – God does not punish us in this life for whatever sins we commit. We can live life on this earth as we desire and will not be punished for it in this life. However, we will have to answer to God in the next life for whatever we do in this one.
Prayer :
"Lord, increase my hunger for your righteousness and holiness. May I not squander the grace of the present moment to say "yes" to you, to your will, and to your way of holiness." Amen

보나벤투라(Bonaventura)는 이탈리아 나폴리(Napoli)의 포텐차 출신으로 노체라(Nocera)에서 콘벤투알 프란치스코 회원이 되었다. 그는 순종의 덕행으로 유명하고 또 장상직을 결코 받아들이지 않았던 것으로 보인다. 그러나 그는 수련장직은 맡았다. 성모님께 대한 보나벤투라의 신심은 원죄 없이 잉태하신 성모 신심이었다. 그는 라벨로에서 운명했는데, ‘순종의 모델’ 성인으로 공경을 받고 있다.
