< 주님께서 나에게 기름을 부어 주시고 나를 보내시어 가난한 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하며 기쁨의 기름을 주게 하셨다.>
해설) 오시기로 된 메시아는 가난한 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하며 찢긴 마음을 싸매 주고 포로들에게 해방을 알리고 갇힌 자들에게 자유를 선포할 것입니다. 그분은 온갖 억압과 죄의 사슬에서 인류를 해방하고 주님 백성을 종살이에서 풀어 줄 것입니다. 메시아는 주님 백성을 새롭게 창조하여 영원한 계약을 맺고 주님의 영광을 온 세상에 드러낼 것입니다.
1 주님께서 나에게 기름을 부어 주시니 주 하느님의 영이 내 위에 내리셨다. 주님께서 나를 보내시어 가난한 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하고 마음이 부서진 이들을 싸매어 주며 잡혀간 이들에게 해방을, 갇힌 이들에게 석방을 선포하게 하셨다. 2 주님의 은혜의 해, 우리 하느님의 응보의 날을 선포하고 슬퍼하는 이들을 모두 위로하게 하셨다. 3 시온에서 슬퍼하는 이들에게 재 대신 화관을 슬픔 대신 기쁨의 기름을, 맥 풀린 넋 대신 축제의 옷을 주게 하셨다. 6 너희는 ‘주님의 사제들’이라 불리고‘ 우리 하느님의 시종들’이라 일컬어지리라. 8 나는 그들에게 성실히 보상해 주고 그들과 영원한 계약을 맺어 주리라. 9 그들의 후손은 민족들 사이에, 그들의 자손은 겨레들 가운데에 널리 알려져 그들을 보는 자들은 모두 그들이 주님께 복 받은 종족임을 알게 되리라.

해설) 그리스도 예수님께서는 우리를 사랑하셔서 당신 피로 우리를 죄에서 해방시켜 주신 분입니다. 그리스도께서는 우리로 하여금 당신의 왕국을 이루게 하시고, 당신의 아버지 하느님을 섬기는 사제들이 되게 하십니다. 지금도 계시고 전에도 계셨고 장차 오실 전능하신 주님이야말로 시작이시며 마침이십니다.

해설) 하느님께서 예수님을 보내신 목적은 가난하고 소외된 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하고, 묶여 있는 이들을 풀어 주며, 눈 먼 사람들을 바로 보게 하고, 억눌려 지내는 이들을 일으켜 세우고, 주님 해방의 날을 선포하기 위해서입니다. 주님의 구원은 먼 미래에 이루어지는 것이 아니라 지금 여기서 이루어지고 있습니다.
그때에 16 예수님께서는 당신이 자라신 나자렛으로 가시어, 안식일에 늘 하시던 대로 회당에 들어가셨다. 그리고 성경을 봉독하려고 일어서시자, 17 이사야 예언자의 두루마리가 그분께 건네졌다. 그분께서는 두루마리를 펴시고 이러한 말씀이 기록된 부분을 찾으셨다. 18 “주님께서 나에게 기름을 부어 주시니 주님의 영이 내 위에 내리셨다. 주님께서 나를 보내시어 가난한 이들에게 기쁜 소식을 전하고 잡혀간 이들에게 해방을 선포하며 눈먼 이들을 다시 보게 하고 억압받는 이들을 해방시켜 내보내며 19 주님의 은혜로운 해를 선포하게 하셨다.” 20 예수님께서 두루마리를 말아 시중드는 이에게 돌려주시고 자리에 앉으시니, 회당에 있던 모든 사람의 눈이 예수님을 주시하였다. 21 예수님께서 그들에게 말씀하기 시작하셨다. “오늘 이 성경 말씀이 너희가 듣는 가운데에서 이루어졌다.”

He unrolled the scroll and found the passage where it was written: 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, 19 and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord. 20 Rolling up the scroll, he handed it back to the attendant and sat down, and the eyes of all in the synagogue looked intently at him. 21 He said to them, "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing."
축성된 성유를 통해 거룩한 주님의 능력이 힘을 발합니다. 주님의 영이 기름 바른 자를 축성합니다. 거룩한 축성으로 주님의 사제가 되게 하고, 주님의 자녀가 되게 하며, 병을 낫게 하고, 이 세상에 것에서 주님의 영역으로 옮겨가게 합니다. 그리하여 우리가 지금 이곳에서부터 주님의 자녀로 하느님 나라를 살 수 있게 합니다.

1. 잠시 눈을 감고서 나자렛 회당 안에서 성서의 말씀을 읽고 또 그것에 대하여 말씀하시는 예수님의 모습을 떠 올려보십시오. 성령에 가득차서 말씀하고 계시는 예수님의 음성 그리고 두 눈빛을 보십시오. 왜 성서의 말씀을 읽은 예수님께 모든 사람들의 눈이 쏠렸습니까? 그들은 거기서 무엇을 보았으며 무엇을 들었습니까?
2. 세상의 어둠을 밝히시는 빛으로 오신 예수님은 나의 마음을 어떻게 비추고 계십니까? 하느님 자비의 구원의 빛으로 모든 사람들이 영원한 생명을 얻을 수 있다는 예수님의 새 희망의 메시지는 내게 어떤 느낌으로 다가옵니까? 두려움입니까? 아니면 위안입니까?

Jesus in Galilee
This celebration takes place in the cathedral in every diocese on the morning of Holy Thursday and is presided over by the bishop as shepherd of the diocese. During this Mass the Sacred Oils (the Oil of the Sick and the Oil of Catechumens) are blessed and the Oil of Chrism consecrated. They are then distributed to the churches throughout the diocese for use in the coming year. Also at this Mass, the bishop is joined by clergy from throughout the diocese which represents the unity of the diocese and of the universal Church. The clergy renew their commitment to priestly service before the bishop and the people.
The first reading for this celebration from the Prophet Isaiah speaks very much of the presbyteral order: those ordained to sacred ministry and who carry on the work of God following the example of Jesus Christ, the great high priest. They are the words quoted by Jesus when he began his preaching in Nazareth, as we have in the gospel.
The second reading from St John’s vision in the Apocalypse, speaks of what Jesus Christ has done for us by washing away our sins with his blood. The text also tells us that he has made us a line of kings and priests to serve God, to bring his word and his salvation to all peoples. It also says that those who pierced him will now see his glory.
The gospel text from St Luke echoes the first reading and in it we see Jesus preaching in the synagogue in his home town of Nazareth. A key element is that the Lord says he was anointed for this work and so too were we at our Baptism and at Confirmation. Others were ordained to a very specific function in ministerial priesthood and while this morning is a celebration of the ordained gathered with their bishop, it is also a celebration of the commitment we each have to the work of building up the kingdom of God.

"Lord Jesus, you are the fulfillment of all our hopes and dreams. Through the gift of your Holy Spirit you bring us grace, truth, life, and freedom. Fill me with the joy of the gospel and and inflame my heart with love and zeal for you and your will". - Amen.

해설) 파스카 축제는 주님의 천사가 문설주에 양의 피가 묻은 집은 넘어가기로 한 열 번째 재앙과 연결되며, 히브리인들이 종살이에서 자유의 삶으로 넘어갔던 밤을 기념합니다. 죽음에서 생명으로 넘어가는 그리스도 십자가의 죽음에서 파스카의 신비가 드러나며, 예수님께서 새 생명으로 넘어감으로써 새로운 파스카의 신비가 드러납니다.

해설) 참사랑은 자신을 낮추고 남을 배려하며 다른 이들을 위해 행동합니다. 예수님께서 행하신 사랑은 가장 천한 봉사까지도 기꺼이 실천하신 사랑입니다. 참사랑이 있는 곳에 하느님이 계십니다. 사랑이 있는 곳에서 인간은 자신과 이웃을 진정 자유롭게 합니다. 예수님의 발 씻김의 행위로 하느님과 인간에 대한 새로운 이해가 시작됩니다.

1 Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end. 2 The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. So, during supper, 3 fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God, 4 he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Master, are you going to wash my feet?" 7 Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later." 8 Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me." 9 Simon Peter said to him, "Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well." 10 Jesus said to him, "Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all." 11 For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, "Not all of you are clean." 12 So when he had washed their feet and put his garments back on and reclined at table again, he said to them, "Do you realize what I have done for you? 13 You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so, for indeed I am. 14 If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. 15 I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do."
예수님께서 아버지께로 돌아가실 때가 되자 제자들에게 더욱 극진한 사랑을 보입니다. 예수님께서는 제자들의 발을 씻어주시며 그들을 영적으로 깨끗하게 하시고, 당신의 피로써 구원의 새 계약을 맺으십니다. 제자들의 발을 씻어주신 주님께서 온 몸으로 인간을 사랑하듯이 서로 사랑하라고 마지막 당부의 말씀을 하십니다.

내발을 씻기신 예수
제자들의 발을 씻어주시다
+ 요한 13, 1-15
1. 예수님은 제자들의 발을 씻어주시며 제자들에게도 똑같이 하도록 당부하십니다. 예수님의 발씻김 예식은 스스로를 낮추신 행위일 뿐 아니라 우리가 하느님과 사랑으로 하나 될 수 있도록 당신의 죽음으로 인간들을 죄에서 씻겨주고 들어 올리시기 위한 것입니다. 타인의 발을 씻겨주는 행위는 결국 우리에게 자신을 낮추고 사랑으로 타인을 위해 살며 행동하도록 본보기로 가르쳐 주신 것입니다.
2. 올바른 신앙인의 모습은 형식이 아닌 실제 세상의 냄새나고 어두운 곳을 깨끗이 씻어주는 삶을 살아가는 것이 아닐까요? 그러기 위해서 내가 노력해야 할 것은 어떤 것들이 있습니까? 열심히 믿는다고 자부하면서 나 홀로 신앙에 머물러 있거나 주변의 어렵고 힘든 사람들을 외면하거나 소홀히 대하지는 않았습니까?

Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper

Jesus washes his disciples feet
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated in the evening time just as the Passover Meal was celebrated in the evening to recall the first Passover in which the Israelites left Egypt. As the blood of the lamb saved the Israelites, so the blood of Jesus Christ brings salvation to the whole world.
The first reading from the Book of Exodus recounts the instructions given to the people regarding the preparations for and the eating of the Passover meal and how the blood of the lamb was to save the people from death. In keeping with the last line of the text it is a festival kept to this day throughout the Jewish world.
The letter of St Paul to the Corinthians tells of the institution of the Eucharist when Jesus gave his disciples bread and wine as his very own body and blood during their celebration of the Passover in Jerusalem. It is an important text because it was written over twenty years after the event, and by one who wasn’t there, which testifies to the importance that these words and actions had in the early Christian Community.
The gospel passage from St. John shows us the scene in the upper room and in it we see Jesus washing the feet of those who were with him. In this way he showed that they were to be servants of all and this is a key element for Christians today. After the gospel is read, the washing of feet takes place as a reminder to us of the instruction Christ gave us. The reference to bathing and the washing of the feet also remind us that our souls were cleansed at baptism but that, from time to time, we need to be cleansed again which we do in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration the Blessed Sacrament is removed from the tabernacle to the Altar of Repose and the altars stripped and crucifixes covered. This gives us a stark reminder that the Lord has been taken from us. 에스파냐의 귀족 가문의 일원인 안드레아 이베르논(Andreas Hibernon)은 무르시아(Murcia) 교외 알칸타릴라(Alcantarilla)에서 태어났는데, 집안이 너무 가난하여 삼촌 집에 얹혀살았다고 한다. 그는 열심히 일하여 누나의 결혼 지참금을 마련하고 의기양양하게 집으로 돌아오던 중 강도를 만나 모든 돈을 빼앗겼다. 허탈감에 빠진 그는 세상 재물의 헛됨을 뼈저리게 느끼고 천상에 보화를 쌓아야겠다는 결심을 하였다. 그 길로 그는 콘벤투알 프란치스코회의 평수사로 입회하였다. 그는 겸손과 기도 그리고 관상에 뛰어났으며 숨은 생활을 즐겼다. 그는 무엇이 하느님을 기쁘게 해드리는 지를 늘 지켜보고 행한 것으로 유명하며 그 결과 예언과 기적의 은혜까지 받았다. 성 안드레아는 자신이 세상을 떠날 날을 예고하였으며, 간디아(Gandia)에서 수도원 개혁을 돕던 중 68세의 일기로 선종하였다. 성 파스칼 바일론(Paschalis Bailon, 5월 17일)과 성 요한 데 리베라(Joannes de Ribera, 1월 6일)는 성 안드레아의 이름을 널리 전하는데 크게 앞장섰다. 그는 1791년 교황 비오 6세(Pius VI)에 의해 복자품에 올랐다.
