Wednesday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time
+ 창세기 2,4ㄴ-9.15-17
<주 하느님께서 사람을 데려다 에덴 동산에 두시어, 그곳을 돌보게 하셨다.>
해설) 하느님께서 진흙으로 사람을 빚어 만드시고 코에 입김을 불어넣으시니 사람이 되어 숨을 쉽니다. 하느님께서는 에덴동산을 마련하시고 사람을 그곳에서 살게 하십니다. 자유의지를 가진 사람은 하느님과의 약속을 지킬 수 있는 존재입니다. 하느님과의 약속은 사람이 주님의 계명을 지키는 것입니다.
4 주 하느님께서 땅과 하늘을 만드시던 날, 5 땅에는 아직 들의 덤불이 하나도 없고, 아직 들풀 한 포기도 돋아나지 않았다. 주 하느님께서 땅에 비를 내리지 않으셨고, 흙을 일굴 사람도 아직 없었기 때문이다. 6 그런데 땅에서 안개가 솟아올라 땅거죽을 모두 적셨다. 7 그때에 주 하느님께서 흙의 먼지로 사람을 빚으시고, 그 코에 생명의 숨을 불어넣으시니, 사람이 생명체가 되었다. 8 주 하느님께서는 동쪽에 있는 에덴에 동산 하나를 꾸미시어, 당신께서 빚으신 사람을 거기에 두셨다. 9 주 하느님께서는 보기에 탐스럽고 먹기에 좋은 온갖 나무를 흙에서 자라게 하시고, 동산 한가운데에는 생명나무와, 선과 악을 알게 하는 나무를 자라게 하셨다. 15 주 하느님께서는 사람을 데려다 에덴 동산에 두시어, 그곳을 일구고 돌보게 하셨다. 16 그리고 주 하느님께서는 사람에게 이렇게 명령하셨다. “너는 동산에 있는 모든 나무에서 열매를 따 먹어도 된다. 17 그러나 선과 악을 알게 하는 나무에서는 따 먹으면 안 된다. 그 열매를 따 먹는 날, 너는 반드시 죽을 것이다.”

4 At the time when the LORD God made the earth and the heavens? while as yet 5 there was no field shrub on earth and no grass of the field had sprouted, for the LORD God had sent no rain upon the earth and there was no man to till the ground, 6 but a stream was welling up out of the earth and watering all the surface of the ground? 7 then the LORD God formed the man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. 8 The LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and placed there the man whom he had formed. 9 Out of the ground the LORD God made grow every tree that was delightful to look at and good for food, with the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 15 The LORD God then took the man and settled him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it. 16 The LORD God gave the man this order: You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden 17 except the tree of knowledge of good and evil. From that tree you shall not eat; when you eat from it you shall die.
묵상) 하느님께서는 온 세상을 창조하시고 당신 모상대로 사람을 창조하십니다. 사람은 하느님의 피조물입니다. 사람은 하느님을 흠숭하고 찬미 찬양하고 하느님을 섬겨야 하고 하느님 말씀을 들어야 하고 하느님의 계명을 지켜야 합니다. 사람은 하느님의 자유의지를 선물로 받았지만 하느님께서 '하지 말라'는 것은 하지 말아야 합니다.

< 사람에게서 나오는 것이 사람을 더럽힌다.>
해설) 어떠한 음식물도 인간의 마음으로 들어가지 않고 모두 위 속으로 들어갔다가 그대로 뒤로 나가버립니다. 하느님 안에서 불결한 음식이란 없으며 모든 음식은 다 정결합니다. 오히려 마음 안에서 온갖 나쁜 생각들이 나와서 나쁜 말과 나쁜 행동을 합니다. 음식이 아니라 마음 안에서 나오는 생각과 말과 행동이 사람을 더럽힙니다.
그때에 14 예수님께서 군중을 가까이 불러 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 모두 내 말을 듣고 깨달아라. 15 사람 밖에서 몸 안으로 들어가 그를 더럽힐 수 있는 것은 하나도 없다. 오히려 사람에게서 나오는 것이 그를 더럽힌다.” (16) 17 예수님께서 군중을 떠나 집에 들어가시자, 제자들이 그 비유의 뜻을 물었다. 18 예수님께서 그들에게 대답하셨다. “너희도 그토록 깨닫지 못하느냐? 밖에서 사람 안으로 들어가는 것은 무엇이든 그를 더럽힐 수 없다는 것을 알아듣지 못하느냐? 19 그것이 마음속으로 들어가지 않고 배 속으로 들어갔다가 뒷간으로 나가기 때문이다.” 예수님께서는 이렇게 모든 음식이 깨끗하다고 밝히신 것이다. 20 또 이어서 말씀하셨다. “ 사람에게서 나오는 것, 그것이 사람을 더럽힌다. 21 안에서 곧 사람의 마음에서 나쁜 생각들, 불륜, 도둑질, 살인, 22 간음, 탐욕, 악의, 사기, 방탕, 시기, 중상, 교만, 어리석음이 나온다. 23 이런 악한 것들이 모두 안에서 나와 사람을 더럽힌다.”

14 He summoned the crowd again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 Nothing that enters one from outside can defile that person; but the things that [16] come out from within are what defile.” 17 When he got home away from the crowd his disciples questioned him about the parable. 18 He said to them, “Are even you likewise without understanding? Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, 19 since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 “But what comes out of a person, that is what defiles. 21 from within people, from their hearts, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, centiousness, envy, blasphemy, arrogance, folly. 23 All these evils come from within and they defile.”
묵상) 사람을 더럽히는 것은 불결한 음식물이 아니라 불결한 마음입니다. 마음 안에 있는 미움과 시기와 질투와 온갖 탐욕 때문에 사람은 온갖 죄에 빠지고 남에게 상처주고 상처를 받습니다. 사람에게서 나오는 악한 생각과 말과 행동이 사람을 더럽히는 것입니다. 자연의 음식물이 아니라 인간의 생각이 그 사람 됨됨이에 영향을 줍니다.
하느님께서는 항상 좋은 것을 주시고 나쁜 것은 물리치십니다. 우리에게 주시는 것은 모두 좋은 것입니다. 사람들은 자신의 생각이나 욕심대로 되지 않으면 나쁜 것으로 여깁니다. 그러나 하느님께서는 사랑하시는 이를 훈육하시고 자녀로 인정하는 이들을 채찍질하십니다. 그리고 당신을 따르는 이에게는 기쁨과 평화와 의로움의 열매를 주십니다.

+ 마르코 7,14-23
1. 사람들의 마음 안에서 나와 사람들을 더럽히는 나쁜 생각들, 불륜, 도둑질, 살인, 간음, 탐욕, 악의, 방탕, 시기, 중상, 교만, 그리고 어리석음에 대하여 성찰해보십시오. 나는 내 마음 안에 어떤 것을 담고 삽니까? 지금 내 마음 안에서는 어떤 것들이 나오고 있습니까? 그것이 나를 더럽히고 있습니까? 아니면 나를 성화시키고 있습니까? 나는 어떻게 나를 정화합니까? 나는 규칙적인 성찰과 고해성사를 통해 나도 모르게 습관이 된 죄를 끊어버리려 노력합니까?
2. 부모가 자식에게 먹일 때처럼 하느님이 주시는 것 중에 그 어느 것도 나쁜 것은 없습니다. 그런데 무엇이 나를 불결하게 만듭니까? 나는 살면서 말이나 행동으로 다른 사람에게 상처주고, 악하거나 음란한 생각으로 나의 영혼을 더럽히진 않았습니까? 이런 것들이 옷에 찌든 때처럼 나를 둔감하고 세속적으로 만들어 하느님으로 부터 멀어지도록 만들지는 않습니까?

Today we read of the second account of the creation of man from the Book of Genesis and in it we see that the Lord provided man with every good thing in the garden but forbade him to eat of one tree only – all else was his to taste.
Our Gospel passage for today is a continuation of yesterday’s in which Jesus was questioned by the Pharisees because his disciples did not purify themselves before eating. His answer to them is that what goes in to a person does not make them unclean – all food is clean. It is what is inside their hearts and minds which makes them unclean and prone to do the wrong thing. This was difficult for the Jews of the time to hear and we know from elsewhere in the New Testament that St Peter himself had to receive a vision before he too preached the same thing. We are all aware of our shortcomings and the image of Adam in the garden reminds us of what we can be and what we must strive for.
Prayer :
"Lord, fill me with your Holy Spirit and make my heart like yours. Strengthen my heart and my will that I may I choose to love what is good and to hate what is evil." - Amen.

레지날드는 도미니코회의 설립자인 성 도미니코(Dominicus, 8월 8일)로부터 수도복을 받은 것이 아니라 성모님께서 발현하시어 그의 소원대로 도미니코회의 수도복을 직접 전해주었다고 전해온다. 프랑스 아를(Arles)에서 멀지 않은 랑그도크(Languedoc)의 생질(Saint-Gilles)에서 태어난 그는 1206년부터 5년간 파리 대학교에서 법률을 가르쳤고, 1212년에는 오를레앙의 성 에그난(Aignan) 대학교의 학장이 되었다. 그는 1218년에 로마(Roma)를 순례하던 중에 성 도미니코를 만났는데, 중병을 앓던 중에 성모님의 발현을 보고 자신의 영적 진로를 결정하였다고 한다. 그 후 그는 파리(Paris)와 볼로냐(Bologna)의 대학에서 큰 명성을 얻었다. 그는 파리에서 선종하여 노트르담 데 샹프에 안장되었다. 그에 대한 공경은 1885년에 승인되었다. 그는 레지날두스(Reginaldus)로도 불린다.
