< 파스카 만찬에 관한 규칙 >
해설) 파스카 축제는 주님의 천사가 양의 피가 묻은 집은 지나가기로 한 열 번째 재앙과 연결되며, 히브리인들이 종살이에서 자유의 삶으로 넘어갔던 그날 밤을 기념합니다. 죽음에서 생명으로 넘어가는 십자가의 죽음에서 파스카의 신비가 드러나며, 예수님께서 새 생명으로 넘어감으로써 새로운 파스카의 신비가 완성됩니다.
그 무렵 1 주님께서 이집트 땅에서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. 2 “너희는 이달을 첫째 달로 삼아, 한 해를 시작하는 달로 하여라. 3 이스라엘의 온 공동체에게 이렇게 일러라. ‘이달 초열흘날 너희는 가정마다 작은 가축을 한 마리씩, 집집마다 작은 가축을 한 마리씩 마련하여라. 4 만일 집에 식구가 적어 짐승 한 마리가 너무 많거든, 사람 수에 따라 자기 집에서 가장 가까운 이웃과 함께 짐승을 마련하여라. 저마다 먹는 양에 따라 짐승을 골라라. 5 이 짐승은 일 년 된 흠 없는 수컷으로 양이나 염소 가운데에서 마련하여라. 6 너희는 그것을 이달 열나흗날까지 두었다가, 이스라엘의 온 공동체가 모여 저녁 어스름에 잡아라. 7 그리고 그 피는 받아서, 짐승을 먹을 집의 두 문설주와 상인방에 발라라. 8 그날 밤에 그 고기를 먹어야 하는데, 불에 구워, 누룩 없는 빵과 쓴나물을 곁들여 먹어야 한다. 11 그것을 먹을 때는, 허리에 띠를 매고 발에는 신을 신고 손에는 지팡이를 쥐고, 서둘러 먹어야 한다. 이것이 주님을 위한 파스카 축제다. 12 이날 밤 나는 이집트 땅을 지나면서, 사람에서 짐승에 이르기까지 이집트 땅의 맏아들과 맏배를 모조리 치겠다. 그리고 이집트 신들을 모조리 벌하겠다. 나는 주님이다. 13 너희가 있는 집에 발린 피는 너희를 위한 표지가 될 것이다. 내가 이집트를 칠 때, 그 피를 보고 너희만은 거르고 지나가겠다. 그러면 어떤 재앙도 너희를 멸망시키지 않을 것이다. 14 이날이야말로 너희의 기념일이니, 이날 주님을 위하여 축제를 지내라. 이를 영원한 규칙으로 삼아 대대로 축제일로 지내야 한다.’”

1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, 2 "This month shall stand at the head of your calendar; you shall reckon it the first month of the year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel: On the tenth of this month every one of your families must procure for itself a lamb, one apiece for each household. 4 If a family is too small for a whole lamb, it shall join the nearest household in procuring one and shall share in the lamb in proportion to the number of persons who partake of it. 5 The lamb must be a year-old male and without blemish. You may take it from either the sheep or the goats. 6 You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, and then, with the whole assembly of Israel present, it shall be slaughtered during the evening twilight. 7 They shall take some of its blood and apply it to the two doorposts and the lintel of every house in which they partake of the lamb. 8 That same night they shall eat its roasted flesh with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 11 "This is how you are to eat it: with your loins girt, sandals on your feet and your staff in hand, you shall eat like those who are in flight. It is the Passover of the LORD. 12 For on this same night I will go through Egypt, striking down every firstborn of the land, both man and beast, and executing judgment on all the gods of Egypt?I, the LORD! 13 But the blood will mark the houses where you are. Seeing the blood, I will pass over you; thus, when I strike the land of Egypt, no destructive blow will come upon you. 14 "This day shall be a memorial feast for you, which all your generations shall celebrate with pilgrimage to the LORD, as a perpetual institution."

해설) 코린토 교회는 수많은 가정 교회로 구성되어 있는데 공동체 사람들은 따로 모여 기도하지만 성찬의 전례는 함께 합니다. 그들은 말씀의 전례와 함께 주님의 만찬 예식을 거행합니다. 예수님께서 행하신 주님의 만찬을 코린토 교회 공동체는 매주 안식일 다음 날인 주간 첫 날에 거행합니다.
형제 여러분, 23 나는 주님에게서 받은 것을 여러분에게도 전해 주었습니다. 곧 주 예수님께서는 잡히시던 날 밤에 빵을 들고 24 감사를 드리신 다음, 그것을 떼어 주시며 말씀하셨습니다. “이는 너희를 위한 내 몸이다. 너희는 나를 기억하여 이를 행하여라.” 25 또 만찬을 드신 뒤에 같은 모양으로 잔을 들어 말씀하셨습니다. “이 잔은 내 피로 맺는 새 계약이다. 너희는 이 잔을 마실 때마다 나를 기억하여 이를 행하여라.” 26 사실 주님께서 오실 때까지, 여러분은 이 빵을 먹고 이 잔을 마실 적마다 주님의 죽음을 전하는 것입니다.

Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.

< 예수님께서는 당신의 사람들을 끝까지 사랑하셨다. >
해설) 참사랑은 자신을 낮추고 남을 배려합니다. 예수님께서 행하신 사랑은 가장 작은 봉사까지도 기꺼이 실천하신 사랑입니다. 참사랑이 있는 곳에 주님이 계십니다. 참 사랑이 있는 곳에서 인간은 자신을 자유롭게 합니다. 예수님의 발 씻김의 행위로 주님과 인간에 대한 새로운 이해가 시작됩니다.
1 파스카 축제가 시작되기 전, 예수님께서는 이 세상에서 아버지께로 건너가실 때가 온 것을 아셨다. 그분께서는 이 세상에서 사랑하신 당신의 사람들을 끝까지 사랑하셨다. 2 만찬 때의 일이다. 악마가 이미 시몬 이스카리옷의 아들 유다의 마음속에 예수님을 팔아넘길 생각을 불어넣었다. 3 예수님께서는 아버지께서 모든 것을 당신 손에 내주셨다는 것을, 또 당신이 하느님에게서 나왔다가 하느님께 돌아간다는 것을 아시고, 4 식탁에서 일어나시어 겉옷을 벗으시고 수건을 들어 허리에 두르셨다. 5 그리고 대야에 물을 부어 제자들의 발을 씻어 주시고, 허리에 두르신 수건으로 닦기 시작하셨다. 6 그렇게 하여 예수님께서 시몬 베드로에게 이르시자 베드로가,“ 주님, 주님께서 제 발을 씻으시렵니까?”하고 말하였다. 7 예수님께서는“내가 하는 일을 네가 지금은 알지 못하지만 나중에는 깨닫게 될 것이다.”하고 대답하셨다. 8 그래도 베드로가 예수님께“제 발은 절대로 씻지 못하십니다.”하니, 예수님께서 그에게 대답하셨다. “내가 너를 씻어 주지 않으면 너는 나와 함께 아무런 몫도 나누어 받지 못한다.” 9 그러자 시몬 베드로가 예수님께 말하였다. “주님, 제 발만 아니라 손과 머리도 씻어 주십시오.” 10 예수님께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “목욕을 한 이는 온몸이 깨끗하니 발만 씻으면 된다. 너희는 깨끗하다. 그러나 다 그렇지는 않다.” 11 예수님께서는 이미 당신을 팔아넘길 자를 알고 계셨다. 그래서“너희가 다 깨끗한 것은 아니다.”하고 말씀하신 것이다. 12 예수님께서는 제자들의 발을 씻어 주신 다음, 겉옷을 입으시고 다시 식탁에 앉으셔서 그들에게 이르셨다. “내가 너희에게 한 일을 깨닫겠느냐? 13 너희가 나를‘스승님’, 또‘주님’하고 부르는데, 그렇게 하는 것이 옳다. 나는 사실 그러하다. 14 주님이며 스승인 내가 너희의 발을 씻었으면, 너희도 서로 발을 씻어 주어야 한다. 15 내가 너희에게 한 것처럼 너희도 하라고, 내가 본을 보여 준 것이다.”

1 Before the feast of Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and he loved them to the end. 2 The devil had already induced Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. So, during supper, 3 fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God, 4 he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist. 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and dry them with the towel around his waist. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Master, are you going to wash my feet?" 7 Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing, you do not understand now, but you will understand later." 8 Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you will have no inheritance with me." 9 Simon Peter said to him, "Master, then not only my feet, but my hands and head as well." 10 Jesus said to him, "Whoever has bathed has no need except to have his feet washed, for he is clean all over; so you are clean, but not all." 11 For he knew who would betray him; for this reason, he said, "Not all of you are clean." 12 So when he had washed their feet and put his garments back on and reclined at table again, he said to them, "Do you realize what I have done for you? 13 You call me 'teacher' and 'master,' and rightly so, for indeed I am. 14 If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another's feet. 15 I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do."
예수님께서는 돌아가시기 전날 저녁에 당신 제자들에게 특별한 사랑을 베푸십니다. 새로운 하느님 백성 공동체에게 당신 사랑의 마음을 전하십니다. 당신의 참 사랑을 기억하고 그 사랑을 이웃과 나누기를 원하십니다. 예수님께서는 당신을 믿고 따르는 주님의 참 자녀들을 구원하실 것입니다.

Wash Me Lord
제자들의 발을 씻어주시다
+ 요한 13, 1-15
1. 왜 예수님은 제자들의 발을 씻어주시며 제자들에게도 똑같이 하도록 당부하십니까? 예수님의 발씻김 예식은 스스로를 낮추신 행위일 뿐 아니라 우리가 하느님과 사랑으로 하나 될 수 있도록 당신의 죽음으로 인간들을 죄에서 씻겨주고 들어 올리시기 위한 것이 아닐까요? 타인의 발을 씻겨주는 행위는 결국 우리에게 자신을 낮추고 사랑으로 타인을 위해 살며 행동하도록 본보기로 가르쳐 주신 것입니다.
2. 올바른 신앙인의 모습은 형식이 아닌 실제 세상의 냄새나고 어두운 곳을 깨끗이 씻어주는 삶을 살아가는 것이 아닐까요? 그러기 위해서 내가 노력해야 할 것은 어떤 것들이 있습니까? 열심히 믿는다고 자부하면서 나 홀로 신앙에 머물러 있거나 주변의 어렵고 힘든 사람들을 외면하거나 소홀히 대하지는 않았습니까?

Jesus washes his disciples feet
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated in the evening time just as the Passover Meal was celebrated in the evening to recall the first Passover in which the Israelites left Egypt. As the blood of the lamb saved the Israelites, so the blood of Jesus Christ brings salvation to the whole world.
The first reading from the Book of Exodus recounts the instructions given to the people regarding the preparations for and the eating of the Passover meal and how the blood of the lamb was to save the people from death. In keeping with the last line of the text it is a festival kept to this day throughout the Jewish world.
The letter of St Paul to the Corinthians tells of the institution of the Eucharist when Jesus gave his disciples bread and wine as his very own body and blood during their celebration of the Passover in Jerusalem. It is an important text because it was written over twenty years after the event, and by one who wasn’t there, which testifies to the importance that these words and actions had in the early Christian Community.
The gospel passage from St. John shows us the scene in the upper room and in it we see Jesus washing the feet of those who were with him. In this way he showed that they were to be servants of all and this is a key element for Christians today. After the gospel is read, the washing of feet takes place as a reminder to us of the instruction Christ gave us. The reference to bathing and the washing of the feet also remind us that our souls were cleansed at baptism but that, from time to time, we need to be cleansed again which we do in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration the Blessed Sacrament is removed from the tabernacle to the Altar of Repose and the altars stripped and crucifixes covered. This gives us a stark reminder that the Lord has been taken from us. The liturgy begun tonight does not end with a blessing and dismissal because the liturgy continues until the end of the Easter Vigil.

"Lord Jesus, your love conquers all and never fails. Help me to love others freely, with heart-felt compassion , kindness and goodness. Where there is injury, may I sow peace rather than strife." - Amen.

12세기 말경에 일단의 프랑스 계통의 은수자들이 솔리냑의 성 베르톨드의 지도하에 팔레스티나(Palestina)의 카르멜 산에서 생활하였다. 베르톨드는 프랑스의 리모주(Limoges)에서 태어나 파리(Paris)에서 수학하였으며, 이곳에서 서품되었다. 그는 친척 에이메릭과 함께 십자군에 가담하였으나 안티오키아(Antiochia)에서 사라센인들에 의하여 체포 투옥되었는데, 그는 이때 그리스도인 군인들의 나쁜 길을 포기하고 그들을 개혁시키라는 그리스도의 환시를 보았다고 한다.
그리하여 그는 카르멜 산에 일단의 은수자 집단을 모으고 원장이 되었다. 따라서 그는 카르멜 수도회의 설립자 중의 한사람이며 거의 45년 동안 수도회를 육성하였다. 베르톨드가 임종할 때에는 프랑스계인 성 브로카두스(Brocardus)가 원장직을 승계하였는데, 그는 예루살렘의 라틴계 총대주교이던 베르첼리(Vercelli)의 성 알베르투스(Albertus)가 만든 규칙에 따라 사는 은수자들의 관습을 가지고 있었다. 이것이 카르멜 수도회의 기원을 설명하는 것으로 현재까지 이해되고 있다. 그러나 이 두 장상들의 생애에 대해서는 알려진 것이 별로 없다.
