Second Sunday of Lent
승리 (Victory)
오늘은 사순 제2주일입니다. 우리는 세례를 통하여 하느님의 자녀가 됩니다. 하느님의 자녀라면 하느님 나라의 상속자입 니다. 우리는 구세주 그리스도를 희망하고 있습니다. 예수 그리스도께서는 만물을 당신께 복종시킬 수 있는 능력을 가지 고 오셔서 우리의 비천한 몸을 당신의 영광스런 몸과 같은 형상으로 변화시켜 주실 것입니다.
제1독서는 창세기의 말씀입니다. 주님께서 아브라함에게 외아들 이사악을 제물로 바치라고 명하십니다. 아브라함은 주님 께서 주신 것을 주님께서 도로 가져가시니 다만 주님의 이름을 찬미할 뿐입니다. 아브라함은 외아들 이사악을 제물로 바 치려고 합니다. 그러나 아브라함의 주님께서는 이사악을 번제물로 바치는 것을 진정으로 원하지는 않으십니다. 주님께서 는 아브라함이 자기 외아들을 잡아 바치는 것보다 당신의 말씀에 순종하는 것을 더 원하십니다. 주님의 말씀에 순종한 아 브라함은 더 많은 축복을 받습니다. 이제 주님의 축복으로 아브라함의 후손은 하늘의 별들과 같이 그리고 바닷가의 모래 알 같이 그렇게 많이 불어나게 될 것입니다.
제2독서는 로마서의 말씀입니다. 하느님께서는 우리를 부르셔서 당신의 거룩한 백성으로 삼으십니다. 그것은 우리의 공로 가 아니라 하느님의 계획과 은총으로 이루어진 것입니다. 하느님의 은총은 천지 창조 이전에 이미 예수 그리스도를 통해 주시는데 구세주 예수 그리스도께서 이 세상에 오심으로써 하느님의 계획이 분명히 드러나게 됩니다. 하느님께서는 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리에게 무죄를 선언하십니다. 예수 그리스도께서는 우리를 위해서 돌아가셨을 뿐만 아니라 다시 살 아나셔서 하느님의 오른 편에 앉아 우리를 위하여 대신 간구해 주십니다. 하느님께서는 예수 그리스도의 부활로 모든 인 간이 당신과 올바른 관계를 갖게 하십니다.
오늘 복음은 마르코 복음입니다. 예수님께서 베드로와 야고보와 요한만을 따로 데리고 타볼 산으로 올라가십니다. 그곳에서 예수님의 모습이 거룩하게 변하십니다. 그런데 그 자리에 예언자의 대표로 엘리야 예언자가 나타나며 율법의 대표로 모세 가 나타납니다. 그들은 이제 곧 있을 새로운 출애굽에 대해서 예수님과 함께 이야기 합니다. 그때 구름이 일면서 하늘에서 하느님의 말씀이 들려옵니다. 이는 내 사랑하는 아들이니 너희는 그의 말을 들으라는 말씀입니다. 예수님의 영광스러운 변모는 예수님의 영광스러운 부활의 표지입니다. 이제 곧 새로운 출애굽과 새 계약이 있을 것이고 새로운 제사로서의 십 자가 사건과 영광스러운 부활의 승리가 있을 것입니다.

< 우리 성조 아브라함의 제사 >
해설) 아브라함은 외아들 이사악을 희생 제물로 바치는 것이 주님께 대한 충성이라고 생각합니다. 그러나 주님께서는 아 브라함의 희생 제사를 말리십니다. 주님께서는 아브라함의 순종하는 마음만을 원하십니다. 주님께서는 당신 말씀에 대한 순명을 원하십니다. 주님은 인간의 죽음이 아니라 생명을 원하시기 때문입니다.
그 무렵 1 하느님께서 아브라함을 시험해 보시려고 “아브라함아!” 하고 부르시자, 그가 “예, 여기 있습니다.” 하고 대답하 였다. 2 그분께서 말씀하셨다. “너의 아들, 네가 사랑하는 외아들 이사악을 데리고 모리야 땅으로 가거라. 그곳, 내가 너에 게 일러 주는 산에서 그를 나에게 번제물로 바쳐라.” 9 그들이 하느님께서 아브라함에게 말씀하신 곳에 다다르자, 아브라 함은 그곳에 제단을 쌓고 장작을 얹어 놓았다. 10 아브라함이 손을 뻗쳐 칼을 잡고 자기 아들을 죽이려 하였다. 11 그때, 주님의 천사가 하늘에서 “아브라함아, 아브라함아!” 하고 그를 불렀다. 그가 “예, 여기 있습니다.” 하고 대답하자 12 천사 가 말하였다. “그 아이에게 손대지 마라. 그에게 아무 해도 입히지 마라. 네가 너의 아들, 너의 외아들까지 나를 위하여 아 끼지 않았으니, 네가 하느님을 경외하는 줄을 이제 내가 알았다.” 13 아브라함이 눈을 들어 보니, 덤불에 뿔이 걸린 숫양 한 마리가 있었다. 아브라함은 가서 그 숫양을 끌어와 아들 대신 번제물로 바쳤다. 주님의 천사가 하늘에서 두 번째로 아 브라함을 불러 16 말하였다. “나는 나 자신을 걸고 맹세한다. 주님의 말씀이다. 네가 이 일을 하였으니, 곧 너의 아들, 너의 외아들까지 아끼지 않았으니, 17 나는 너에게 한껏 복을 내리고, 네 후손이 하늘의 별처럼, 바닷가의 모래처럼 한껏 번성 하게 해 주겠다. 너의 후손은 원수들의 성문을 차지할 것이다. 18 네가 나에게 순종하였으니, 세상의 모든 민족들이 너의 후손을 통하여 복을 받을 것이다.”

There you shall offer him up as a holocaust on a height that I will point out to you." 9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. 10 Then he reached out and took the knife to slaughter his son. 11 But the LORD's messenger called to him from heaven, "Abraham, Abraham!" "Here I am!" he answered. 12 "Do not lay your hand on the boy," said the messenger."Do not do the least thing to him. I know now how devoted you are to God, since you did not withhold from me your own beloved son." 13 As Abraham looked about, he spied a ram caught by its horns in the thicket. So he went and took the ram and offered it up as a holocaust in place of his son. 15 Again the LORD's messenger called to Abraham from heaven 16 and said: "I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you acted as you did in not withholding from me your beloved son, 17 I will bless you abundantly and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants shall take possession of the gates of their enemies, 18 and in your descendants all the nations of the earth shall find blessing - all this because you obeyed my command."

< 하느님께서는 당신의 친아드님마저 아끼지 않으십니다. >
해설) 하느님께서는 인류를 구원하시기 위하여 당신의 아들까지 아낌없이 내어주십니다. 하느님께서는 당신이 선택한 사 람들에게 무죄선언을 하시고 당신 아들의 십자가와 부활로 모든 인간이 당신과 올바른 관계를 갖게 하십니다. 예수 그리 스도로 말미암아 모든 인간은 하느님과 올바른 관계를 갖게 된 것입니다.
형제 여러분, 31 하느님께서 우리 편이신데 누가 우리를 대적하겠습니까? 32 당신의 친아드님마저 아끼지 않으시고 우리 모두를 위하여 내어 주신 분께서, 어찌 그 아드님과 함께 모든 것을 우리에게 베풀어 주지 않으시겠습니까? 33 하느님께 선택된 이들을 누가 고발할 수 있겠습니까? 그들을 의롭게 해 주시는 분은 하느님이십니다. 34 누가 그들을 단죄할 수 있 겠습니까? 돌아가셨다가 참으로 되살아나신 분, 또 하느님의 오른쪽에 앉아 계신 분, 그리고 우리를 위하여 간구해 주시는 분이 바로 그리스도 예수님이십니다.

Brothers and sisters: 31 If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him? 33 Who will bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who acquits us,34 who will condemn? Christ Jesus it is who died or, rather, was raised who also is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us.

해설) 예수님의 거룩한 변모는 예수님 부활의 표지입니다. 예수님의 활동은 당신 죽음으로 끝나지 않을 것이며, 당신 제자 들을 통하여 계속될 것입니다. 하느님의 초대를 기쁘게 받아들여 예수 그리스도를 따르는 사람은 지금 여기서부터 영원한 생명의 삶을 살 것이고 마지막 날 영광스러운 부활에 동참할 것입니다.
그 무렵 2 예수님께서 베드로와 야고보와 요한만 따로 데리고 높은 산에 오르셨다. 그리고 그들 앞에서 모습이 변하셨다. 3 그분의 옷은 이 세상 어떤 마전장이도 그토록 하얗게 할 수 없을 만큼 새하얗게 빛났다. 4 그때에 엘리야가 모세와 함께 그들 앞에 나타나 예수님과 이야기를 나누었다. 5 그러자 베드로가 나서서 예수님께 말하였다. “스승님, 저희가 여기에서 지내면 좋겠습니다. 저희가 초막 셋을 지어 하나는 스승님께, 하나는 모세께, 또 하나는 엘리야께 드리겠습니다.” 6 사실 베드로는 무슨 말을 해야 할지 몰랐던 것이다. 제자들이 모두 겁에 질려 있었기 때문이다. 7 그때에 구름이 일어 그들을 덮 더니 그 구름 속에서, “이는 내가 사랑하는 아들이니 너희는 그의 말을 들어라.”하는 소리가 났다. 8 그 순간 그들이 둘러 보자 더 이상 아무도 보이지 않고 예수님만 그들 곁에 계셨다. 9 그들이 산에서 내려올 때에 예수님께서는 그들에게, 사람 의 아들이 죽은 이들 가운데에서 다시 살아날 때까지, 지금 본 것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 분부하셨다. 10 그들은 이 말씀을 지켰다. 그러나 죽은 이들 가운데에서 다시 살아난다는 것이 무슨 뜻인지를 저희끼리 서로 물어보았다.

아브라함은 믿음으로 외아들 이사악을 주님께 바칩니다. 예수님은 아버지의 뜻대로 사람이 되어 세상에 오시며 죽기까지 순종하십니다. 아브라함도 예수님도 갈등과 번민과 고통을 겪으셨을 것입니다. 그러나 하느님께 대한 믿음과 순종으로 하 느님의 뜻을 따를 때 모든 것을 이기고 승리할 것입니다.

영광스러운 모습으로 변모하시다

1. 예수님과 동행한 베드로와 야고보와 요한이 산 위에서 본 것은 무엇입니까? 예수님께서 죽은 이들 가운데서 다시 살아나신다는 것은 어떤 의미입니까? 예수님은 왜 그들이 본 것에 대해 함구하라 하십니까?
2. 나는 나의 삶을 살아가면서 언제 예수님을 알아 뵙고 베드로와 같은 전적인 신뢰를 고백했습니까? 그리고 다시 일상적인 모습으로 돌아왔을 때 그 체험이 나의 삶을 어떻게 변화시켰습니까?

The Second Sunday of Lent
Genesis 22:1-2, 9-13, 15-18 / Romans 8:31-34 / Mark 9:2-10
Our readings today present us with an example of true faith and the reward of that true faith. They place before us the need for this penitential season as we move towards the great festival of Easter. We will become pure as Christ and enter heaven through our own purification which we must carry out as willingly as Abraham was willing to sacrifice his own son.In the first reading from the book of Genesis we read of Abraham’s sacrifice of his only son, Isaac. This was not the first time that Abraham had been called by God to do something for him, but each time Abraham responded positively out of love for God and out of a desire to do the will of God. In today’s text we see Abraham being asked to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, even though this would have negated the Lord’s earlier promise to grant him many descendants and make him the father to a great multitude. Only at the last moment does the Lord intervene but the episode reminds us that when the time came, God the Father did not intercede to save his own divine Son but allowed him to be put to death by men so that all peoples could have eternal life.
In the second reading from the letter to the Romans, St Paul alludes to this sacrifice and says that God gave up his only Son for our sake so that we might have eternal life once again, and that this Son now sits at God’s right hand to plead for us. Therefore, God is already on our side and we simply need to live his way of life and to call on him for help in our struggles with evil.
In the gospel, we read St Mark’s account of the Transfiguration of the Lord on a mountain in the presence of three of his closest apostles. The entire scene reminds us of the great theophanies of the Old Testament which took place on mountains and also of the cloud which was present and which symbolized God’s presence during the Exodus. For a moment Jesus was seen in dazzling white robes and it is a foretaste of what we too can be – pure as Christ – but for Jesus this will come after his resurrection and it is possible that this event on the mountain took place to make his impending death easier for his followers. The Father’s command to ‘Listen to him’ is a reminder to us to listen to Jesus’ teaching in the Good News and to live our lives as he asks us to live: practicing mercy and almsgiving, persevering in prayer and fasting, repenting of our sins, being steadfast in faith.

영국 웨식스(Wessex)의 데번셔(Devonshire)에서 성 리카르두스(Richardus, 2월 7일)의 딸로 태어나서 윔보른(Wimbourne) 에서 수녀가 된 성녀 발부르가는 크레디톤(Crediton)의 성 보니파티우스(Bonifatius, 6월 5일)와 더불어 독일의 선교사로 활 약했던 성 빌레발두스(Willebaldus, 7월 7일)와 성 비네발드(Winebald, 12월 18일)의 여동생이다. 761년 성 비네발드가 선종 했을 때 그녀는 성 비네발드가 설립한 하이덴하임의 남녀 이중 수도원의 장상직을 맡아 일생동안 헌신하였다. 영국 출신 인 성녀 발부르가 원장은 독일인의 풍습을 적절히 활용할 줄 알았던 지혜로운 여성이었다. 그녀의 경당은 '신비스러운 기 름'이 흘러나오는 곳으로 유명하다. 그녀는 교황 하드리아누스 2세(Hadrianus II)에 의해 시성되었다.
